About CMA and Program Objectives
As many as 85% of accountants today work inside organizations, where expertise in decision support, planning, and control over
value-adding operations are crucial elements of operational success. In earning the CMA, you will have mastered a comprehensive
body of knowledge directly related to operational and strategic management as well as the skills and abilities required to build
quality business practices inside organizations.
The CMA Program has four objectives:
***To establish management accounting as a recognized profession by identifying the role of the management accountant
and financial manager, the underlying body of knowledge, and a course of study by which such knowledge is acquired;
***To encourage higher educational standards in the management accounting field;
***To establish an objective measure of an individual’s knowledge and competence in the field of management accounting; and
***To encourage continued professional development by management accountants.

Instructor-Perry Chin, CMA
Perry is Director of Finance and Planning in
Global Sales and Services for Sun Microsystems, a global computer hardware, software and IT Services company with annual revenue
in excess of $10 billion. His extensive worldwide business and financial operational experience frequently attracts the most
challenging assignments involving new business ventures, strategic alliances, valuation analyses, and growth initiatives.
During his tenure he has driven a revenue and profitability forecasting process, spearheaded financial contract negotiations
with major network computer OEMs and Services providers, and served as Software division controller providing financial direction
for R&D, marketing, sales and services, technology licensing and acquisitions. Earlier, Perry had relocated to Singapore and
established the company's first wholly-owned subsidiary in South Asia and launched sites in Malaysia, Thailand and India,
following upon his success in setting up Sun's operations in Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela. SHe also was Sun's Manager of
Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. Prior to joining Sun, he held financial management positions at the Hewlett Packard
Company, a global technology and services provider. Perry earned his MBA Finance from the University of California, Berkeley,
and is a CMA and member of the IMA-PPA chapter.
Instructor-Sudha Chadalavada, CPA,CFE
Sudha, a CPA and a CFE, has over fifteen years
of experience in accounting and finance and currently specializes in SEC Reporting. Sudha has extensive and broad range of
work experience including external audit, private company controllership and public company regulatory compliance and reporting.
Sudha brings great breadth of expertise and experience in presenting and teaching the CMA review course. Sudha is the current
President of the IMA Palo Alto Chapter and also has served on the boards of several non-profit educational
associations including IMA Silicon Valley Chapter, IIA San Jose Chapter, and ISACA SV Chapter aswell as a club and district
officer of Toastmasters' International.
