IMA's 20th Annual Salary Survey
Despite the economic crisis, IMA’s 20th Annual Salary survey indicates that professionals holding IMA’s CMA certification have greater earning power – 24% higher in salary and 31% higher in total compensation – than their noncertified colleagues. These findings appear in the June 2009 issue of IMA’s

IMA Committees' Response to SEC Roadmap for IFRS use by U.S. Companies
IMA’s Financial Reporting and Small Business Committees submitted comment letters to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in response to its proposed roadmap for the use of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by U.S. Companies. Comments were due on April 20, 2009.

COSO Elects New Chairman

The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) of the Treadway Commission has elected David L. Landsittel, CPA as its new chairman. Jeff Thomson, IMA’s President and CEO, took the lead in the organization’s search for the Chairman’s position.

The institute of Management Accountants proudly presents the IMA Ethics Series: Success Without Compromise- Group Study. This course is designed to help management accountants improve their ability to drive business performance in the areas of decision support, planning, and internal controls. Participants will be educated on IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice, which provides the foundation for this course. Participants then will be challenged to go beyond rote memorization and apply their understanding of the Standards in real-life situations, thus strengthening, their personal ethical framework and empowering them to influence the ethical culture within the company.

IMA's Group Live programs offer high-quality educational opportunities specifically aimed to advance career development. Group Live programs offer IMA Chapters educational programming that is relevant to management accountants and that meets continuing education requirements of CMAs. The programs provide opportunities for members to develop career related knowledge through local events, as well as a chance to meet fellow IMA members and form connections with other finance professionals.

Sudha Chadalavada
Instructor-Sudha Chadalavada, VP professional Education, IMA-PPA
Sudha, a CPA and a CFE, has over fifteen years of experience in accounting and finance and currently specializes in SEC Reporting. Sudha has extensive and broad range of work experience including external audit, private company controllership and public company regulatory compliance and reporting. Sudha brings great breadth of expertise and experience in presenting and teaching the ethics class. Sudha is the current VP Professional Education of the IMA Palo Alto Chapter and also has served on the boards of several non-profit educational associations including IMA Silicon Valley Chapter, IIA San Jose Chapter, and ISACA SV Chapter aswell as a club and district officer of Toastmasters' International.

Anna Maria, has a cumulative expertise of over 15 years experience in financial planning, operations, accounting, sales/marketing, forecasting, and product cost management Anna Maria has excelled in managing global operations and testing cross-functional teams. She has directed the development and implementation of state-of-the-art systems to achieve cost-reduction improvements while maximizing corporate profitability.





Edwin Tan Instructor-Edwin Tan, Ethics Committee Chair
Edwin Tan, is a licensed chartered accountant of England and Wales and has also passed the uniform Certified Public Accountant's exam conducted in California in the year 1986. Edwin has over 30 years of experience in auditing, taxation, and company restructuring experience. Edwin feels fortunate that in the early years of his career to work for a restructuring specialist from PriceWaterhouse partner that later setup his chartered accountancy practice in London. Edwin is the restructuring specialist for RHI for the past 7 years in various capacities including accounting manager through CFO position. Edwin's specialties include restructuring, taxation, setting up new accounting system, and providing training/mentoring to finance staff. Prior to working for RHI Edwin was the CFO/Controller for 'Cosdel Int'l Co Inc', a Foreign Freightforwarders and Customhouse Brokers located in San Francisco for 15 years before company was acquired by a New York Company.
