IMA Announces 2010-2011 Chair-Elect
IMA is pleased to announce Brian L. McGuire, Ph.D., CMA, CPA, CBM, CITP as Chair-Elect for IMA's fiscal 2010-2011 period
(July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011).
March 11, 2010: Institute of Management Accountants Announces 91st Annual Conference & Exposition in Baltimore.
ICMA is now accepting registrations for Parts 1 and 2 of the new two-part CMA exam program and the Transition Exam.
On November 24, 2009, ICMA announced a change to the format and curriculum of the CMA exam program, beginning May 1, 2010.

Learning Excel is a must in today's business world and especially if you are an accounting and finance professional. As you go
through the series week after week, you will notice a significant change in your ability to utilize these skills at work. The
sessions cover advanced formatting techniques, working with templates and workbooks, using advanced functions, working with lists,
using Excel's analysis tools, managing and auditing worksheets, and many other advanced features. Attending the chapter sponsored
excel programs provides you with the skill set to perform your jobs more effectively and efficiently. In this course, you will
use Microsoft Office Excel to streamline and enhance your spreadsheets with templates, charts, graphics, formulas and macros.
You will apply visual elements and advanced formulas to a worksheet to display data in various formats.

entering features, such as auto complete, auto correct and auto fill, Inserting formulas, sum buttons to add and average numbers,
fill handle to copy, Selecting cells using mouse, keyboard, data within the cells, Formatting with predesigned styles, Cell and
Table styles
Lesson 2: Inserting Formulas in a Worksheet: Writing formula’s with mathematical operations, Inserting formula’s with functions
(statistical and financial functions),Writing formula’s with date, time functions, and IF logic function, using absolute and mixed
cell reference in a formula
Lesson 3: Formatting an Excel Worksheet: Changing column width, row height, inserting and deleting cells, rows and columns,
clearing data in the cells, applying formatting, font, mini-toolbar, alignment, previewing a worksheet-zoom setting, applying
theme, formatting using group buttons and format cells dialogue box, alignment and indent of data, adding borders, fill and
shading cells, formatting with format painter, repeating last action
Lesson 4: Enhancing a Excel Worksheet: Formatting a worksheet, margins, centering, orientation, size, inserting and removing page
breaks, printing row and column titles, scaling data, inserting background picture, various print options, inserting headers,
footers, Spell checking, undo and redo, finding and replacing data, sorting and filtering
Lesson 5: Moving Data within and between Workbooks: Creating workbook with multiple worksheets, cutting, copying, pasting selected
cell. Paste option button and office clipboard, managing worksheets, hiding, formatting, splitting windows, Freezing, Working
with ranges, windows, multiple workbooks, Linking data between worksheets, 3-D reference
Lesson 6: Maintaining Excel Work Books: Maintaining workbooks, creating and renaming a folder, Copying and moving sheets to
other workbooks, Saving workbook in different format, version, Formatting with cell styles, working with comments

Instructor-Sudha Chadalavada, CPA, CFE
Sudha, a CPA and a CFE, has over fifteen years
of experience in accounting and finance and currently specializes in SEC Reporting. Sudha has extensive and broad range of
work experience including external audit, private company controllership and public company regulatory compliance and reporting.
Sudha brings great breadth of expertise and experience in presenting and teaching the excel training class. Sudha is the current
VP Professional Education of the IMA Palo Alto Chapter and also has served on the boards of several non-profit educational
associations including IMA Silicon Valley Chapter, IIA San Jose Chapter, and ISACA SV Chapter aswell as a club and district
officer of Toastmasters' International.

Instructor- Patricia Huang, Treasurer,IMA-PPA
Patricia has been a member of the IMA, Peninsula-Palo Alto Chapter since 1994.
This is the first year Patricia is joining the board of the Palo Alto Chapter of IMA. She had a broad experience in various
aspects of corporate financial management. She worked in high tech industry, such as Raychem and Applied Materials; she also
worked in regional banks industry, such as Silicon Valley Bank. She has extensive experience in accounting and financial
analysis; good exposure of SOX compliance, process reengineering and ERP implementation. Patricia lives in Cupertino and enjoys
hiking and traveling. Patricia has an MBA, Santa Clara University and BS in Economics, Soo Chow University.
