IMA Announces 2010-2011 Chair-Elect
IMA is pleased to announce Brian L. McGuire, Ph.D., CMA, CPA, CBM, CITP as Chair-Elect for IMA's fiscal 2010-2011 period
(July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011).
March 11, 2010: Institute of Management Accountants Announces 91st Annual Conference & Exposition in Baltimore.
ICMA is now accepting registrations for Parts 1 and 2 of the new two-part CMA exam program and the Transition Exam.
On November 24, 2009, ICMA announced a change to the format and curriculum of the CMA exam program, beginning May 1, 2010.

Elections for Operating Board (Term- July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011)

The Peninsula Chapter of IMA is currently seeking team players to join the chapter leadership as operating board of directors.
The board positions will begin service on July 1, 2010 and serve for a one year term ending on June 30, 2011.
Participating at the chapter leadership will enhance your leadership skills in a friendly environment and will allow you to have
a voice in the chapter administration. It is also a great opportunity to network with IMA members in various industries and
positions.Chapter leadership also consists of committees that support the various functions of the chapter administration.
Chapter members interested in serving at the chapter but in a specific responsibility rather than a governing body, please
consider submitting an application for the committee positions.

Nomination/Application Process:
• Only Members of Peninsula Chapter of Institute of Management Accountants are eligible to participate in the nominations process
• All applications are to be submitted via our website and due by March 31, 2010 to be included in the ballot packet.
• All applicants will submit the nomination form, willingness to serve for the position, willingness to abide by the policies
and procedures established by the chapter.
• Elections will be held at the chapter’s membership meeting on April 20th. Each applicant will be given two minutes to
present themselves. In the absence of nominee at the elections his/her application will be read for two minutes
• Nominations from floor are not allowed
• Elections will be conducted in accordance to Robert’s Rules of Order
• Subsequent to elections, open board positions are filled by the majority vote of the operating board and the advisory committee
• Candidate for the open board positions, subsequent to the elections must follow similar procedures established for elections

Nominating Committee Chair- Robert Beaseley, MBA
Bob became a member of the
Peninsula-Palo Alto Chapter of the IMA in 2003.
Bob was the chapter president from 2006-2008, coming into this role of nominating committee chair, after serving in major
leadership roles both before and after assuming the presidency, he will look to find qualified candidates who will serve the
chapter in its initiatives and look to broaden their own depth of experience.
Prior to becoming chapter president, he had served as concurrently as VP of Education (2005-06),Secretary (2004-06) and the
Director of Newsletter (2003 to present) under past president Ken Kobylenski. A long time veteran of the semiconductor industry,
Bob's area of work concentration is in cost accounting and Financial Planning Analysis. A local
product, Bob grew up in Sunnyvale and graduated from Fremont High before receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration,concentration in Accounting from San Jose State University. Bob attained MBA from Santa Clara University
Nominating Committee Member- Earl Bloom, CMA
Earl Bloom has been a member of the Peninsula/Palo Alto
Chapter for most of the last 30 years, serving in several positions including VP of Professional Development. He also earned one
of the first CMA designations awarded, in the mid 1980's. He has worked in accounting/finance management positions in a variety
of industries, including semiconductors, telecommunications, internet services, health care, scientific instruments. He has
also worked in financial roles for non-profit organizations, including a large church and a firm specializing in assisting home
buyers in obtaining and keeping their homes.

Nominating Committee Member- Karl Kneip, MBA, CMA
Karl Kneip is currently responsible for the Membership Retention at the Peninsula chapter of IMA.
In the past Karl has served as a chapter President(1999 - 2000) and in other officer positions. Karl continues as permanent
leader with the chapter in his role as a member of Advisory Committee of the chapter. Karl has over twenty years of experience
in bio-tech/pharmaceutical industry accounting and forecasting R&D expenditures. Karl's current career emphasis has been on
contract accounting services for small pre-IPO companies. Karl has a BS in Accounting from Menlo College, MBA from Santa Clara
University and a CMA.
